I just realized that there are these little black spots that turned out to be holes in xps 1530, right under my "ctrl" key. They werent there when i first bought the laptop, but somehow they developed... anyone how they got there? should i return the laptop cause i still got warranty?

They're just little black spots no more than half a millimetre in diameter. At first i thought my laptop was just dirty cause thats where i rest my hand when typing, but when i tried wiping it, i realized its not dirt. I think something may be eating away my laptop. I remember reading about this before, someone mentioned it, im just trying to dig up the thread...

it might just be from lots of use and the sweat and oils from yur hand are startin to eat the aluminum. i've seen a few pictures of this from macbook users, and it's pretty nasty. how long have u had yur notebook for and do u have very long sessions? i always keep my xps-cloth with me. i hate smudges and sweat marks!

    keep yur stuff clean guys!!!

try licking your finger and rubbing the black spots they should come off. i have ones that develop occasionally and rubbing then with a wet finger appears to get rid of them.
