i had nhc installed a while ago, but it didn't feel stable so i removed it. the fix stayed applied for a while and then it randomly started again. after that disabled hd indexing, and that stopped it again for awhile.

today i was dumb enough to update my video audio drivers (idiot). now it's clicking again, and bad. gonna do a system restore to see if that helps.

any major new answers in this problem area? this is probably the biggest issue i have with my dell. other than that i love it.

i was about to restore and i saw windows had applied some updates as well. figured it might have reset the hd parameter available through nhc. re-installed nhc, followed the instructions here in the "Clicking Noise issue *resolved*" thread and it disappeared again.

    god bless this forum!
