"No supported camra detected, Please plug in to continue"

Please connect it now and launch the webcam console again.

Since you've re-installed the drivers and the device is not found it's possible the camera or the camera connection is defective.

Call Dell, since it's a new system they will be more than happy to replace the Camera or even ship you a new replacement laptop.

Yeah, but be prepared to wait a while for the M1530 if they can't find your specs to replace it because there are a lot of people in line for that laptop right now.

You could open it up yourself to check the connections of the camera, though its not recommended since you'd void your warranty, you may at least be able to fix a simple problem if it is as minor as that. Then again you'd have to open it to find out... It's a risk.

Why would you even suggest this? :(

It's a new laptop, the screen bezel is very easy to damage and taking the screen assembly apart is not a simple task.

The only option here is to contact Dell so they can fix it.

Your webcam is supposed to work out of the box. It's not working, call Dell and they will fix it.

Yeah i am about to call them but the waiting-time is not the greatest.
Do you know how much it cost to call their support per minute?
Is it expensive to wait in their waiting line?
thanks rhodan for all of your replys.

Hi, I hope this comes out correctly, as it's my first time on here and I'm hoping that font code does not show up on this reply.

Anyway, I just opened my Dell last night, and the cam was not working -- just like yours. So I went on line and Googled the model's webcam driver and downloaded. I restarted and, boom, there it was working. I hope this helps.

    Happy Fourth of July!

Hello, any chance you could forward the link for the driver? or tell me the model of the camera. This is driving me nuts!

    Thanks!

"No supported camera detected, Please plug in to continue"

that error comes up if you install the webcam software first n you try to run the webcam manager. coz you have no drivers installed for your webcam.

i have got the same error when i did format n install the os.

so first things is to you need to install the drivers provided on the dell driver dvd for webcam, later on you have given with another dvd for reinstalling dell webcam manager, use this after installing the driver.
n restart after installing, it should work :)

tats the way to install the cam driver, there you go, it will work fine.
thats what i did. everything will work fine.

You can get both the webcam application and the driver from the drivers n downloads section too, just to note!!
