I think it has to do with theh video card but am not sure.

I havent taken it apart yet but the lcd does not power on and external monitor does not display either.

other wise it boots andwhen pressing buttons can see the lights light up and hear the hd spin and fan just nothing to the displays

    st# is FMZ2BG1

cant tell if its an internal video or add in ccard. I am going to get a manual and take it apart but if anyone can help let me know

I'm not familiar with your system, but based on the symptoms it seems like your video card is kaput. Generally, even if the LCD is bad, it will still try to display something (then again, the backlite could have gone out). It's hard to say, can you hear any sound? A bad video card will generally not allow the system to boot anywhere and will beep during post.

    Anyone else's thoughts?

If you have tried known good RAM, and you have an M1530 with an Nvidia chip, you are likely one of the millions of victims of the G84M/G86M scandal. Unfortunately if you are OOW, your options are limited. You can try rebaking your motherboard back to life but honestly not worth the effort/time especially if that is your main machine. Or you get a M1530 motherboard with the Intel GPU.

You can remove the main door, take off the heatsink and see if you have the Nvidia chip vs the Intel.

The issue is M1530 that work go for 350-400...in warranty. They are worth even less if OOW. If yours is Nvidia either buy an M1530 motherboard with Intel GPU or buy a new laptop. Even if you rebake your laptop back to life, it will fail again and again. There is no fixing it.
