I'm generally not much of a gamer, but will probably be playing alot of Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 when they come out. Of corse this is asking for speculation but how would the current card in the 1640 handle these games?

I realize that there is going to be a new vid card coming, but my current laptop recently died, and I need to buy a new one pretty soon. Would it be worth waiting for the new card?

    Well for the waiting part...

Rule of thumb: buy when you need it. People speculate the GPU upgrade to be soon(as in June 1st), but there has been no confirmation from Dell AFAIK. Therefore, if you can wait, you should as there will always be better stuff/better deals. however, if you need the laptop for work or whatever, you should buy one.

The HD4670 will provide a significant boost in performance over the current HD3670, but I think both should be able to run SC2 and D3 as Blizzard usualyl doesn't release graphics heavy games.

The HD3670 should be fine if you don't play at 1080p resolution. But maybe wait 2 weeks and see if the HD 4670 appears?

I agree with the first reply, speculation can be a killer, i always buy when i need, and then try to get the notebook that best suits my needs, theres always updates and newer releases...so just get what you need and be happy.
Id imagine that the HD3670 will be able to play both those games well enough, blizzard arnt known for making games that are too demanding on pc's.
    Good luck with your choice.

I think I've decided to wait till the new card comes out, I've got my old desktop and my work laptop I can use to get by until then.

    Check this out!

    10. Mainstream dual core processor, +2G memory, +9800GT and the like will be required in order to set the graphics to medium.
    11. As a guideline: A laptop from two years ago may still be able to play SC2.

These are the settings recommanded for the beta. The game will be optimized by then! I'm surprised the 9800Gt will only handle graphics to medium. But, as I said, it's for the beta only!

That seems alittle intense for SC2, If the required specs are anything like that when it goes gold id imagine some very disapointed fans......anyway time will tell
