Im looking for a replacement for my xps1530 (2.5 ghz dual core, 4gb ram ,256 8600gt memory card)
ive looked through most of the brands out there and for my max budget of £950 the dell xps 17 seems like the best i can get for my money
includes
Intel® Core i7 Processor 740QM (1.73 Ghz, 6MB, 4C)
17.3" HD+ WLED True-Life (1600x900) with 2.0 Mega Pixel Integrated Camera
4096MB 1333MHz Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM [2x2048]
8x DVD+/-RW Optical Drive
500GB (7,200rpm) Serial ATA Hard Drive
9-cell 90Whr Lithium Ion battery
3GB NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 445M Graphics Card
ive heard alot of chatter on the forums about waiting for sandybridge to come out. My question is even if sandybridge comes out soon will it even be in my 950 price range?
also....will that mofo play crysis 2?

Prices shouldn't increase much or at all when Sandy Bridge comes out, so there's no reason not to wait, it should be out any week now. Yes, it'll play Crysis 2, lol. However, if you want more, unbiased opinions (this is the XPS board after all), you can also ask this question over here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/what-notebook-should-i-buy/ (make sure you read the sticky first).

ive just been talking to dell sales rep and she says that the sandybridge option will be available late feb early march.
I thought there was something suspicious about the fact they had xps 17 on sale -
I just got mine fresh few days ago.... should I bother returning it and wait for 702x? And I've got mine for 750 pounds, and tbh i don't want to pay more than 800. That'd mean overbudget for the new one?

Luckily 1st Feb is actually the last day where I can file a return... I'll wait and see what the specs and price are for the new xps 17
xps 17...value for money
