I just noticed a small round spot (about 1mm in diameter) on my lcd screen. It is visible only on white background when I look obliquely from above. It looks a bit like a grease spot and my first reaction was to clean it but it is not dirt, it is inside the lcd.
It doesn't bother me because it is not visible when I look at the screen from the usual angle, but I was wondering what it could be and whether it can get worse. Also, is this something that is normally covered by the warranty?
Thanks

Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
It could be a defect caused by excessive pressure on the screen in which case it may or may not be covered by warranty depending on the source. I know on some older Dells, the keyboard could touch the screen when the laptop was closed and and over time cause similar markings. In those cases, you can probably get the screen/keyboard replaced.
If it was caused by something in your backpack pushing against the outside of the screen, it probably isn't covered. But really, it's hard to know where these things come from, so you might as well try your luck and get it replaced. -
Thanks. It makes sense
