so i keep trying to find out how to connect my 1730 to my onkyo 805 and getting surround sound. i have read something about an SPDIF cable? And other threads talk about a 3.4 mm cable? i am not very good with this stuff, so could someone give me a walk through and let me know what i need to buy?

i have always used a 3.5 headphone plug and then use the red and white audio to go into the reciever or tv. you can get them at radio shack
