I just received my laptop last month but yesterday it just doesn't want to start. The blue screen (I use vista home premium sp1) shows BAD_POOL_HEADER and MEMORY_MANAGEMENT problem.

I suspect this is because of... either...
    1. NERO
I downloaded NERO 8 trial on wed and ever since my firefox crashes (and so do internet explorer and safari). I don't remember what I did but I found out that the system says it has compatibility problem with Nero Burning ROM. I tried to use the System Restore but it says the System Protection was turned off. I wanted to turn it on but it just can't.
    2. Memory card stuck in the wrong place and I forced it to come out using screwdriver.
It happens 1 day before I download NERO.

Firsts tries I couldn't get into normal mode. I was suggested to use the startup repair but it turns out that the startup repair failed to solve the problem, but then I was a able to get into safe mode. Now, after hundred attempts to make it reboot, I can't even get into the safe mode. Ratio of 1 in 5 attempt I could get into the safe mode but it keeps on restarting automatically and I couldn't do anything >.<

To make it worse, I didn't purchase any warranty... I want to purchase a new one but can I? I tried to register to extend the warranty but so far no reply. Can I go to the retailer shop (I'm in Singapore btw) and ask someone there to fix it? Suggestion please... I'm frustrated -_- it's a new laptop and I like it so much.

    Pleeeaaaseee help.

Have you tried to do a system restore or a plain reinstall of the OS.

You may have a malfunctioning memory chip; a common enough problem. Use the memory diagnostic tool built-in to Vista.

Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Memory Diagnostic Tools

Reboot the machine and let the test run.

i already ran the system restore but can't cuz system protection was turned off and i don't know why i can't turn it on.
i also did the memory diagnostic tools (in the startup repair command) which eventually lead me back to startup repair telling me that it fails to repair >.<

i can't even have it start.. only blue screen or option to use 'launch startup repair'-->failed and 'start windows' -->eventually brings me back to this screen

i can't turn it on so i won't be able to click the start button >.<

Doesn't dell have have a recovery partition that you can access and reload the OS? like FN+F11 or something.
