    Hi

    Can anybody help me with a couple of queries on the XPS M1530.

    I am thinking about buying this notebook with the 1680x1050 screen option.

    Can anybody tell me...if I watch a blue-ray DVD on this screen will it downscale to 1680x1050

    I'm thinking that perhaps the resolution might be restricted to certain values..in which case it probably means it will only be able to downscale to 720p (1280x720)

    Furthermore, can anybody tell me if you can tell the diffence between 1680x1050 and 1280x720 on a 15.4" screen

    thanks in advance

    well two things, 1680x1050 is not 1080p, 1920x1200 is. and that 1280x720 is not 720p, i forgot the exact resolution for 720p. my point is that you are goign to have to downscale no matter what

    1080p = 1920 x 1080

    720p = 1280 x 720

    Present widescreens on the M1530 and other laptops do not have the 16/9 aspect ratio of an HDTV. Thus, some conversion would be required.

    Interestingly, Dell was exhibiting at CES a few weeks ago a laptop with a 16" screen that had a true 16/9 aspect ratio.

    Does anyone know if the M1530 will play 1080p without any freezes, out of sync, without any problems?

    Thanks
