Hi all. Been enjoying my m1530 for a few months now and I'd like to keep the handrest area nice for the rest of my ownership. My last laptop, after a year, had some pretty impressive discoloring on the plastic casing where my hands rest. I think my sweat is corrosive. eww. I know.

So with my 1530 even with the fancy brushed metal case, I'm noticing a lil' hazy fade under where my left palm rests that's not coming off with anything I'm trying (rubbing alcohol, various household cleaners) and I don't want it to get worse. Are there any fitted protectors anyone knows about that I can stick on there and easily remove/replace later? In the UK but will be visiting states soon and can pick something up there.

On another note, I found an anti-glare screen protector when I was searching for solutions to the above and was wondering if anyone has tried one and likes it? I'm not a fan of the glossy screen and was wondering if this helps, or if it decreases image clarity too much.

    Thanks.

dunno about the wrist pad but i heard them anti glare things are hard to get on properly, takes a lot of tedious work to make sure you don't get any bubbles and air holes in random parts on you screen. if you can get it to go on well, then the anti-glare is great

just beware that you will lose some brightness off your screen.

When I play games, I usually end up putting my microfibre cloth under my wrist so that my sweat doesn't wear the finish off. My old Inspiron was nearly black where my palm rests...

Why not try wearing some of those sweat wristbands? I use them, its not for style but for gaming...

see my signature for anti-glare screen protector... it helps a bit, but u cant turn a glossy screen into an exact matte screen..

and i use bestskinsever to 'laminate' the outside top of my laptop and wrist areas..... this means a little higher temp(metal wristpad helps with cooling), ohwell...

I read somewhere that Frisket Film works well for covering the palmrest area on laptops. It's a thin plastic removable film used for masking areas for airbrushing. Available from art supply stores or on eBay for around a tenner for 4m roll. Just cut it to suit. Haven't tried it yet myself, as I never removed the plastic protector that was on my 1530 when I got it. Worth a try at that price. Let me know if it works, or if you find somewhere that sells skins for that area, as I haven't been able to find any myself.

Maybe I don't have toxic sweat, but I've used my M1530 mostly for gaming since I got it in January, and the palm rest area looks pristine. :D

just wipe your sweat off after each gaming session or during the gaming session.
