Cheaper here, and you can install it on 3 machines, so anyone else in your family can have it too.
I'd drop Norton for free alternatives, AVG free or Avast! are popular choices.
3GB Data backup? I'm sure thats much more expensive than a 8gb flash drive? -

u probably cant drop the norton.....
any Dell EPP access? (just asking)... -
-
i am not exactly sure abt how EPP works but i read on this forum that anyone could go in dell.com/epp and i can do the same and select "student-faculty or alumni" from drop down list options and that takes me to epp page......could u suggest good EPP deal and how to get there?thanks -
You could try another package, with lower specs and build the hardware up to that.
Then if you're just under the limit for the 25% off (1500 i think?) add a bigger hd or something - there's no reason another config won't work. -
You dont really need 4gb ram...2gb is plenty for vista...havent had any trouble with my m1530 and i have played many intense games/used many intense applications...such as autocad/photoshop! Anyway you dont need the T8300 processor since i guess you are not really a gamer? You picked the 8400m gs...im just guessing here. If you dont really play games then the T8100 should fit all your needs. If you do play games get the 8600m gt and get the T8100 with 2gb ram...its a perfect combo.
Btw as for the microsoft stuff...do you know any one thats in any university/college? You can get it for pretty cheap in university
As for the 3 year accidental insurance...that must cost a chunk of the price...try getting 3 year return to depot...with all my suggestions it will be will within your budget i hope. -
