Thin green lines a panel/cable fault.

Heat will need the laptop cleaning and a repaste never hurts whilst you are in it.

i had the heatsink and fan off already. its apparent it needs paste, as its mostly on the side and is dried up. the fan is slightly dirty, not extreme, but the vents are clean.as for the green line, can the cable fault issue be fixed? if so, how do i go about it? thanks for your reply.

From my many years being a laptop engineer you have about a 90% chance in it being a faulty panel and 10% of the cable being the cause. Reason being is a single line is usually a dry joint on the ribbon cable running the length of the panel.
Yes you can fix it by replacing the panel or maybe the cable, but my money's on the panel.

oh well, i can live with the line i guess, not worth sinking money into. only gave $45 for it, works great except for that and the battery is no good.
