Hmm I had a Samsung on my first XPS M1730 but I must say I prefer this Sharp I have on my second one. My first Samsung had backbleeding, this one is backbleeding free. I think this Sharp screen is a really great one.

All of my XPS M1730 screens have been Samsung so far (had to get 3 replacements before finding a defect-free unit). The one I'm using now is pretty bright with zero bad pixels. I usually run it at brightness L6 (max is 8).

No grainy issues here on my Sharp and it is bright. Those who had must have had defective screens. Mine is really sweet and I don“t have that annoying back bleeding my former Samsung had.
