In october 2011 my xps 15 died, Dell offered me an "upgrade" to the 15z, they sent me a refurbished 15z, for the past 4 months I have had multiple problems with the machine, display dying, track[ad dysfuctional, unable to boot, battery dead, etc. they replaced multiple 15z's all refurbished, replaced parts, all refurbished. They eventually agreed to get me out of the 15z and sent me a 14z that was refurbished, it worked great, but the screws holding the back in place were missing, they sent me replacement screws, that would not engage in the palmrest so they sent a replacement palmrest and an incompetent tech to replace it. 3.5 hours later she managed to mangle the wifi antenna (caught it in a screw attachment point) and I lost wifi, then it would not boot up or even turn on. Called dell, parts backordered. Assked for another laptop and getting nowhere. Fed up with DEll

email sent to above address for what good it will do, supposedly, I am to receive a replacement 14z. Seems that the onsite tech broke the ribbon connectors from all of her connecting and reconnecting the motherboard.

reveived a call today from Dell executive officies, lots of appologies, and they are in the process of exchanging the bad 14z for a differnt one, do not know if it will be new or refurbished, but I was assured that it will be thouroughly inspected and tested. thanks for the email.

Sounds like a big pain, why did they give you a smaller screen laptop?
