    xps system noise when idle

    hey everyone can you just have a look at the below youtube video and advise if this is normal noise for the xps 15 to make whilst idle. It seems a little loud to me, and if you put your hear close to it you can hear what i believe is the hard drive making strange sounds every few seconds.

    if you can reply either in this thread or with a comment to the video.

    I can't really tell with what noise you're having an issue. I do kind of hear a churning sound similar to mine coming from the HDD. If that's what you're hearing, I'm not sure if that is normal or not but I have run tons of HDD diagnostic tests with no errors. Process Explorer Hardware Interrupts are always well under 1% of CPU usage.

    it sounded allot louder on my ipod touch when i played the recording back, it is a sort of churning noise which i assume is the hard drive but it seems to never stop and it sometimes seems quite loud.
