The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. I just tried to go a user Wiki site from these forums and was surprised to see the site has been over run with Tripod spam links:

    http://www.xps-wiki.com/wiki/M1530_Vista_Drivers

I can't seem to find the user it belongs to, so I thought I would post it here so that he can see what is going on.

Woah, I see what you mean. Looking at the edit hostory, it looks like this has been an ongoing problem. A user called BatBoy has removed the spam pages a few times before.

Some of the articles, like "Gaming LCD", look like they were never actual articles in the first place and should really just be removed.

LOL - yes. Those two pages have been the target of spam bots. Sadly, a risk when you base your site off of WIKI design.

In any case, I have moved the Gaming LCD and M1530 Vista Driver pages. The old pages are still being targeted but at least the content has been preserved on a different page.

    New pages are:

    http://www.xps-wiki.com/wiki/XPS_M1530_Vista_Drivers
    http://www.xps-wiki.com/wiki/M1730_Gaming_LCD

Working with L33 to sort this out. Future discussion on this can be done over at the forums (dont want to infringe on NBR).

Maybe someone there can moderate the changes in the wiki page before they actually happen :) Kinda like posting comments in some blogs, they will be reviewed before added.

The site is down for me as well, bummer :(

Yep. Sorry to say, I believe the site is gone. I sent a message to the site owner and have had no reply.

That was the only real issue with the site - the wiki portion was a nice idea, but it needed to be locked down and changes approved. Even though XPS-Wiki is gone, you still have the best support option right here - NBR. ;)

so what thread or page can i ping to look up the latest releases for XPS software ?

the wiki was easier than going to each vendor's web site (the old-fashioned way)....

I'll have something up shortly - give it a day or so. It will be very brief - but I will continue to post driver updates.

    d___.

I spent quite a few hours adding updated drivers to the M1730 Drivers page.

Now it feels like I wasted all that time learning xps-wiki code...

Anyone know where you can now get a full up to date list of all the drivers for the M1530?

I knew I should have saved a copy of the page - after I spent ages updating it too!

I have a saved-off copy of the wikitext for that page, from around March 2009. See attachment.
