    Hello,

I just installed Win7 RC 64-bit on my xps1330. Everything is working except the screen brightness setting. Windows 7 screen brightness settings in power management act more like a switch than a slider. When set below a certain point, the screen either dims to a very low level and flickers, or turns off completely and the only way to restore it is to close the lid (sleep), and then wake the laptop. The [func] + arrow keys also work erratically. As it stands, the screen can either be on full brightness, or very dimly lit and flickering, or off completely. Anyone else experiencing similar symptoms?

    Hi,
Even I am planning to install windows 7 on my xps1330. But tell me one thing from where you get all the drivers for windows 7. I'm able to find only nvidia driver(s). From where do I get drivers for memory card, webcam, audio and so on.

    Thanks in advance

    Regards,
    achilles

Windows 7 downloads most drivers automatically, the only ones that have to be installed manually are for the touchpad, fingerprint reader(I skipped that) and my scanner.

Edit: Oh, and you probably want to install the audio driver manually too. I have audio, but plugging into the middle jack disables the left one. It still works fine on my vista install, so it's probably a driver issue.

    Hi achilles,

Sephye is right, Win7 will install most drivers automatically. The only ones I had to install manually were the touchpad and fingerprint. I don't use the webcam, but in device manager it shows as if it's installed correctly.

When you install it, please let me know if your screen brightness keys work correctly.

    Regards,

    Julio
