Hy,
the HDD in my D505 is overheating and gets temperatures over 55°!! Playing a game makes it even more up to 63° Is anybody experiencing similar problems or maybe knows some more information on this?

I would do some checks to your hareware/fans, because i used to have a Dell Inspiron 4150,
it overheated so badly, The utilities to do this are on the CD's that came with the notebook, i dont know if that will hlep you because i called dell once and they said that i would have to do that but unfortunately it didnt work.

Well, I called Dell and they told me, that the system was designed to be that way. When I asked about the hot temperature(up to 63°) They said they didn't know about it. I said this is obviously happening and asked how about the lifetime of such a HDD. All answers were only about: 'we have no long term problems' and 'this is an established design which did not make any problems'.
But why the heck is it then more than 7° hotter than the specs of the Hardware vendor?? They are trying to cheat me I think.
On the other side, I have a 3 years next business day support. So the HDD would fail within the next two years and I will get a new one...
