Hey Guys, I have a Dell Inspiron 15 7000 (7548) series laptop, the Canadian model purchased from Dell.ca, with an i7-5500u, hd graphics 5500, radeon m270, ac 2x2 7265, and the 4k screen.
I want to install Windows 10 Tech Preview on it, but every time I do (this has been with every build since 9926), it doesn't work. I get to the desktop after the initial boot, and Windows update instantly installs their HD Graphics 5500 driver for Windows 10, and my screen goes black. I've left it for hours, rebooted it, connected other displays, even tried teamviewer but that cut out too, but I can't stop it from installing that driver through win update as you can't turn it off in the preview. Also, the drivers from Intel's site don't install, an error about it not being the correct computer (?) or something
If anyone could please help me out that would be great!![]()

1. Boot into safe mode, when you are booting, purposely shut off your laptop within the first 3 second of boot so the OS goes into auto repair mode and gives you option to boot into safe mode or use USB stick.
2. Boot with HDMI on a HD monitor, you will see nothing, make sure you are on battery mode. Then wait for 5 minutes to complete boot, close laptop lid to put laptop to sleep mode. Open laptop, and press the power button to wake laptop. It should, display through monitor or TV though the HDMi
After you can see the screen, log on. Go to control panel, systems, hardware tab, device installation settings, choose no, let me choose what to do. Never install software from windows update. -
Tried Win10 10130 build on 7548 with 4k screen, windows update would download drivers for intel graphics and AMD. They work but with bugs like window not refreshing correctly and HDHomeRun VIEW shows black screen.
