    Hi,
i'm looking to upgrade the screen of my E1505/9400 from WXGA (1440x900) to WUXGA (1920x1200).

My current screen model is a LG Phillips (LPL0000).
I've found an inspiron 9400 compatible: Samsung WUXGA (LTN170WU-L02)

But i'm not sure if i can upgrade screen from differents manufacturer easy like that.
I've already look over the net but didn't found same situation.

If someone knows something about that...

    Thanks,
    S.

    The Inspiron 9400 is a 17" laptop.
How exactly are you going to fit that into your E1505 which is a 15.4" notebook.

    I have a E1505 as do you.
Their were three screens sold with the system:
    1280x800 WXGA SAMSUNG LTN154X3-L09
    1440x900 WXGA+
    1680x1050 WSXGA+

Unfortunately their was no 1920x1200 WUXGA panel made for the E1505.
So the best screen you can put in their is the 1680x1050 panel.

I have the 1280x800 panel in my E1505, hence why I know the model number.
I do not know the model number of the other two screens, but I know for a fact that the highest resolution panel you can install in their is 1680x1050

Sorry it's my mistake, the 9400 is the same as 1705 (17"), not 1505 (15")...

    Ok,
just tried to conected the new screen.
It reacts when i start the computer, but nothing more, it stays black. You think i have to find a compatible inverter?
