Quick question to the gurus, I know a couple lurk this forum ;)

In the bios, under performance/HDD, you can select 3 modes which are BYPASS/QUIET/PERFORMANCE

Basically, it says BYPASS should be used for older drivers and does nothing special in terms of performance.

Quiet runs slower but makes less noise.

Performance runs faster, but makes more noise.

Is Performance mode putting more stress on your hdd and on the long run making it decreases in overall performance? I ask this because while playing with these settings, even if it says that performance will make more noise than the 2 other modes, I consider performance less noisy than bypass (while more than quiet for sure). Any input on this?

    Thanks
