Yes! 4 days! (just like evergreen's) it must be some sort of record but the important thing is, it's here, and i love it!

im quoting apollo13's good review here, and i'm substantiating it with pics. so check them below. (sorry, out of excitement, had no time to fix the quality of pics)

mine came with a travel remote, and ear plugs (with different plug sizes) from creative --- the sound was excellent!

another shot! i noticed that the lcd top seems a little rubbery than smooth... hmmm.. and i noticed small "glue bits" but they disappeared after a few rubs....now i know why my delivery was fast heheheeh....

After a day with my inspiron 1520, it really was worth it buying it. Though it's bulky than other laptops, and heavier, it's ok with me coz im not going to bring it around anyway. but in anycase i need to bring it with me, the targus backpack will help me out big screen, nice keyboard, cool graphic card and processor, a rating of 4.6 in windows experience, who's not going to go for it?


Edit: i realized that the pics i've posted of the spring green color are lighter than what it is in real life, so i adjusted this pic to come close to the "real" spring green color. please don't mind the discoloration of the media buttons, focus on the lid's color.

 

Nice photos! What's the stuff next to the wireless mouse? Don't tell me it's the USB antenna?? That's just HUUUUGE But I guess there is a cable and you can pull it to put it at a convenient place? Still, that's enormous. I have a VX revolution, the USB thing is tiny, and the new one for the VX nano is just... invisible.

Nice to see it comes with the remote and the earbuds and that you have it soooo quickly It's more or less typical delivery time for Dell, but I ordered an XPS 1330. So I'm getting used to longer delays.

What th heck is the 1520 resting on ? It should be a hard surface to aloow cooling

These models look like they do their CPU/GPU venting to the right side of the unit... it probably won't be a problem to put them on a soft surface. However, I still haven't seen a pic of the bottom of one yet.

omg, i absolutely LOVE the green!! i'm so glad i picked it for my 1420!! What were your expectations of the green before you saw it in person and when you finally opened up the box and saw it for the first time, was the color even greater or worse than your expectations? please share!! i'm way too anxious to get mine

O Ya, one guy wanted a video of the webcam's quality. Would that be possible to see?

I think you have to add it when you configure your system under the tv-remote section. Under that section its listed as Dell IR travel remote. Dell also sells a Blue Tooth third party remote that has a li-on battery and can recharge in the express slot. But it does stick out a bit when in the slot. The regular IR dell does not.

Thanks! Im loving it also, if only it wasn't easy to gather dust.... hmmm... i hope it's only for now that it's a little rubbery. During the Dell Roadshow, the samples were not rubbery.

Hey that's cool! i also have a black inspiron background preinstalled, but it's not the default one. i wonder how other colors look like.

I think it's really part of the package here, same with the earplugs, though i didnt tick it in the online order form. must be courtesy of the dell roadshow guy who took my order!

 

Hey you green fanatic! I don't know for you guys, but for me, I had the chance to check the colors in "real life" in the Dell Kiosk and Dell Roadshow here in Singapore before buying, so i had this idea on how it will look like. The thing i like about the green color is that the microsatin finish shows more, and it's not dull nor bright green. though the dell agent told me it's not a hot-selling color (the top 4 hot-selling ones are (in order): midnight blue, red, black, expresso brown --- not an official one, and this one's based on singapore purchases), im glad im one of the few who choose this

initially i was eyeing on the yellow one, because it looks good in the dell website, but when i saw it, i changed my mind. the red's also nice, like rich, rich red, looks "royalty" for me, i was choosing between green and red, btw. if i was a "pink lover", pink was also not so bad either. black was super black, i think most of the guys will love it. expresso brown looked black to me at first but when light shined on it, it has this faint dark brown color, cooool. unfortunately midnight blue was out of stock that time.

Edit: Yep, forgot about the white one... sorry for those who like it, but it looks "too plastic", yikes!

 

COngrats on the new laptop. In the pic showing the closeup of the time stamp on the screen, I can see curved vertical waves of....graininess??...is the the grainy look that people are talking about??

 

Ok, the first thing I did upon opening it, was to check the webcam! here are two sample pics, they look similar, but during the photo capture, it was much harder to focus on 3200x2400 (the highest setting). the 640x480 is the default setting and it's already fine.

im having trouble with the video uploading, because the 640x480 30 second video is 225mb, and the 1600x1200 video (highest setting) is 384mb. You Tube wont accept it.... any suggestions?

 

Did you see the white at the roadshow? I haven't read any first hand opinions about it... Thanks.

 

oh, i cant see graininess in the screen, it's really clear. i think the vertical waves are due to taking the screen's picture (it's like taking a picture of the television?)

during the first try, there was. but after a few days, it's gone. just silence when no music is playing. btw, the earplugs are excellent! crystal clear for me. I didn't expect they'll include this kind.

Load up Windows Movie Maker, and just add the 225 mb video file, and Save project as a movie file the video will be around 3mb-15mb

From Order to In Hand my Vostro 1500(V1500 is essentially the same as i1520,spec-wse), I got my in 6.5 days, even in time before I move to college.

I am in US of A, ordered on the aug 14th received on aug 21.

Nice pictures, I love the green, honestly I wish my Vostro has that green finish as well. I am so Jealous =P
