    Is anyone ready for the Dell Adamo 13 to be released, yet???

    I'm waiting with *patience and great anticipation*!!!

    I hope that there is a Early Spring release on the A13 :D

    I think it looks great, not too sure on the whole "back ledge" thing where the screen's mounted just a bit forward of the rear edge of the laptop, but everything else looks great!

    Macbook Air, get ready to eat your heart out! :p

    whoa, so sleek and sexy. too bad they're not making a red one, it would have been the one of the sexiest laptop ever. :p hopefully, the price tag on this one will not go over 2G's, so that my friend can buy it i can get a chance to lay my hands on this sweet little thing. :D

    How often do you actually use one? I've got a Latitude E4200 with an external DVD Burner and I've never actually used the drive. I did plug it in to make sure it worked, but other than that, it just sits in the case.

    After carrying my 15.4" behemoth for years, I know I barely use the optical drive..I can't wait to try this one out...hopefully looks are not deceiving in this case and its actually light and packs reasonable power under the hood.

    My concern is the display port. I was looking forward to having an HDMI port in my next purchase...Does anybody here has any experience with the display port in terms of using it with an LCD TV?

    I don't think there will be any noticeable differences between displayport and HDMI for the average consumer, however, spec wise, HDMI seems to be better. It has a higher bandwidth and supports xvYCC color space, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio bitstream. I think one of the main reasons why Dell has chosen displayport over HDMI is because of the lower costs associated with displayport (no royalty fees).

    I doubt you'll see either. I'm hoping for the SL9400. It would give a nice power boost over the SU-series in my E4200 but should still keep battery life reasonable. Since the SL9300 and SL9400 are what is used in the Air, I'd expect them here as well.

    Hmmm...According to some sites on the net..Adamo is Hebrew for *Earth*.
    Earth is beautiful. The Adamo is sexy, sleek, and lightweight.

    According to Dell, it means: "to fall in love with" in Latin! So, this one may take a bit of *thinking* :rolleyes: :D ;)

    I do like the name Dily's (feminine ~ Means "genuine" in Welsh) :cool: :rolleyes:

    Why should We Pay Apple prices for a DELL system????


    just get a MacBook Air or a MacBook at least you get your moneys worth and people recognize it. Most people will see the ADAMO and think oh look a $400 Walmart eepc or a Slim Netbook.

    Adamo sounds close to Adore or is Spanish Adoramo

    sounds like Italian or Latin for "Adore"

    Well we don't know the pricing yet and we don't know the specs...so lets withhold judgment shall we?


    Personally I don't think it looks anything like an eepc...far from it...But its interesting to come across a contrasting opinion since most people on the web have had nothing but a 'wow' reaction to the looks of adamo. That being said the macbook air and the new macbook are quite distinctive nonetheless.

    There isn't even *set* pricing yet. So, comparing pricing to another brand right now, really isn't fair..When, it's factual then do it! :rolleyes: :D

    And, because one chooses not to like something another one does, doesn't make it bad thing, right??

    I think the Adamo is distinctive on it's *own* ;)

    Why should I care if people recognize my laptop because there is a picture of fruit on it? The Adamo looks so much more nice than the Macbook Air.

    I would get one for the fact that I like to do more than word processing and web browsing. The Adamo looks way cooler than the MBA and the fact that I dont need to dual boot to do everything I need is a big plus.

    Maybe Dell wants to throw a double Adamo punch with another Adamo notebook (Adamo 16 ?) and that's why they're delaying the 13" model? Then again it's probably just a technical reason for the delay.

    The fact that it has no hdmi port is killing me!! Displayport is useless for most people, specially people who buy this kind of laptop.
    I think i'll just keep my m1330 then.

    You can get a Display port to HDMI cable. Search for "Male 20 pin DisplayPort to FeM 19 pin HDMI Type A" in google and you get a lot of sellers.

    well i put plane to buy dell xp studio 13 in the next 15/2 but after isaw adamo ineed to wait some time this laptop seems to be wonderful iwish they have 14 inch new release or even 15 inch

    Its not going to be a powerhouse.

    Probably a VAIO TT in terms of performance.. ie. SU9xxx CPU, Intel graphics, 4GB DDR2, etc.... which is pretty decent as long as youre not gaming, video editing, or rendering.
