looks good! i think im going with the same screen but i think theres a shipping delay for it now. look at any movies on it yet?
-
Hey. Yeah I put in Pirates of the Caribbean. The standard settings Brightness/Contrast/Gamma are set at 50%. This seems to make the movie playing "too bright" or washed out. I think I prefer more vivid colors. I started playing w/ the Nvidia Control Panel and that made the movie appear more accurate in color.

Very nice!
How is 1440x900? can you see everything fine? or is right or small? what was your experience like?
and more screens please
-
wow judging by the look of that screen im going to change my order to that size up from wxga. i though it would be to small on my 15.4" screen but it appears fine on that one and its only 14"
-
I measured the picture on my screen and its only 13.5 inches diagonally.. So its a bit smaller in photo then in real life. At least on my screen. I also can plainly see all the text and it really looks good. I think Dells decision to offer the higher resolution is wise. I know the new gateway T-140, and Sony CR don't offer this option. Even HP's DV2500t does not offer the higher res. This may be one of the sweetest looking 14" displays on the market today. Can't wait to get mine.

Does the LCD have any light leakage (perhaps near the bottom)?
-
Do you have 1420 also?
Can you please post the width and height of the LCD screen? -
Yesterday i went to my friends house to look at the 1405 and the 1440x900 looked too big for it so i wasnt sure if i wanted to get that one or the lower resolution. Do you think its fine to get the bigger one or should i save 50$?

(14.1")^2 = (h^2) + (w^2)
1440/900 = w/h
width=11.957"
height=7.473"
lol... i was bored -
Thanks! I suck at math
1420 LCD - Thought it was pretty.
