You should be able to get a much better deal than that. Take a look at the Vostro 1400 instead.

have you thought of going for vostro??
it is basically same with inspiration laptops except lower price
also i believe you won;t be playing major games like crysis -
he wont be playing many if any without a graphics card...even the 8400gs doesnt really cut it...you need the 8600gt if you are really considering gaming.
-
Thanks...no gaming at all on this computer. I just built a comparable Vostro and only saved $70.....I'll stick with the Inspiron 1420...so for the 1420 I have built above, can I do mbetter on the pricing and/or any changes to configuration suggested (again, no gaming)....
-
Really? I thought that the fact that the current base model had 2 GB of RAM would have made it cheaper.
-
Me too, but since I can get 2GB of RAM from Crucial for $50, I can get the 1420 for $100 more than the Vostro, and correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the 1420 (considering same build configuration) is an overall better computer?
-
The 1420 is cooler anyway because you can choose a color for it to come in.
Everything looks good for the price you're paying.
1420 build/price?
