Automated system said build stage, a gal I talked to said they were still waiting on the cover. At least she bumped me up to free next day shipping. I call back in a few days and start asking for some more extras.

Ok......FINALLY some good news. I just spoke to a CSR and I guess he actually pulled up the Manufacturing link that all CSR's have and tracked which stage my laptops in. He said its currently in "burn-in" stage. He said that this stage is when Dell installs the software and OS in the laptop. He also said that my lappy will be shipped out in 3-4 days so it is on track to be here on the 29th with the next day shipping. I'm crossing my fingers!

Yea no kidding. As anyone on here heard of the "burn-in" stage? The dude I talked to said my dell is built and everything. So hopefully he's tellin the truth.

Kitting is when they gather your parts together. I think it's a good sign since most orders go straight to build right now.

i think around 6pm or so. It was probably changed right after that.

 

Still in BUILD. If they delay me again, they better give me the biggest compensation they have. I'm tired of playing the waiting game.

Well considering there are people who have ordered before you and still don't have theirs(me) and others you may have to wait another week or so but can't say for sure.

 

Hmm...maybe a CSR expediting your order really does work. One did it for me a couple of days ago when I was changing the shipping address of a camera I got from Dell. Which I'm still trying to find btw. Apparently the staff at my school doesn't know how to keep a package in one place until the student comes to pick it up, nor even inform me. >.<

 

That really sucks, I'm hoping all those boxed laptops can ship out today and hope to recieve it tomorrow. I want to avoid shipping to school as much as possible.

Jesus. I ordered 7/26/07 and now I am being told my new EST ship date has changed again!

First was Aug 15, then Aug 23, now it's Sept 3-5.

I know, I already had a problem with shipping to school. I had a camera shipped here and it took me two days to receive it after it was delivered. I'm having my laptop shipped to my house instead.

 

How many of you will purchase from Dell again based on the purchase of your 1520? I just wanna see how f*cked dell is.

 

Sadly I know I will. I have already done it with the camera I purchased. They do have very good prices for what they offer. Their only strong point I suppose.

 

I agree I most likely will too because of their prices and their products are pretty decent, only think they are lacking in is in their Customer Support.

 

So I guess its fair to say that the sub-par customer service is a trade off for the pretty decent products at cheap prices?

And... the case colour is only the newest reason why it is being delayed. Sales rep originally told me all was fine. Chat CSR then told me that 1440x900 display was the issue, only to be disproved by phone CSR few hours later saying that nothing was being delayed. Few days later it was the nVidia 8600 and then few hours after that - finally - the colour...

 

which is pretty funny seeing how dell jusgt dumped in loads of money to improve their customer service.

I went into boxing a day after you, so I suspect mine *may* be shipped tomorrow. It still wouldn't make it to my house before Monday though.

The automated number still has me in boxing stage, and I went into boxing the same time as Paznos and Ultimate. Where did you get your shipped info from? HELP!!! I REALLY WANT THIS THING TO GET DELIVERED TOMORROW!!!

 

i called around 4:30 pm and heard a completely different message while expecting the usual. =[ i literally jump for joy while waiting for the subway. Dell also called my house at 5:15 pm. And the site show my tracking #.

 

maybe they didn't update you yet. according to the dhl site. they recieved the package at midnight

 

Let's hope it's just that they didn't update me yet. Someone break out some rosary beads for me since I'm stuck at my son's football practice until after 8pm.

Thunder I think you and I are in the same group. Hopefully we will, but none of the delivery services deliver on Saturday, right?

 

I was told by my sales rep that FedEx might deliver on a Sat. Not sure how true. If they do, I'll be driving down to my work on Saturday to pick it up. Still hoping I get it tomorrow though.

 

Honestly I'm expecting mine on Monday. Theres usually a surge of deliveries on Monday from the all the backup from Sat and Sun but we'll see. Be sure though, the first thing I do when I get my shiny new matte finished 1520 is post a reply on this thread!
