    1520 ship date Aug 2, still in build stage...

    I ordered the midnight blue 1520 on 7-19 with est shipping date of 8-7. I contacted customer service yesterday and was told they have no colors at all in stock except white and they do not know when they will get more in. I was referred to corporate office but I cannot call them or be transferred. I have to wait 24 - 48 business hours for someone to call me back. Ridiculous customer service. I am trying to decide if I should wait it out or cancel. All I am asking for is a realistic shipping date from Dell to so I can make up my mind. Seems too much to ask for.

    I just don't understand what the deal is. When I ordered over 3 weeks ago, there was no delay on the colors. Why all of a sudden is there a delay, and why are people who ordered colored laptops after me getting theirs before me? I mean, didn't they know how many covers or screens or whatever they had on hand when people were ordering? They know that there are backorders now, so they are showing that on the website when you order.

    I'm just really frustrated.

    I ordered an Insperon 1520 on July 2 with an original ship date of July 17. On the 17th ship date was changed to July 24, on the 24th changed to 31st, on the 31st changed to Aug 7. I just called and was told it was in boxing. So with any luck will see on the 7th.

    Ordered 7/20, original and current ship date 8/8. Called CS concerned about delays and they changed my shipping from 3-5 days to next business day for free. Can't complain yet because the ship date hasn't slipped. Stay tuned!

    I am just begging for the testing phase. When that comes, I can only assume that the computer completely built.

    So, my computer is supposed to ship tomorrow, for free overnight delivery on Tuesday. Both the phone line and computer still show tomorrow as the shipping date, but they are both in production and the phone still says build stage. We'll see how it goes. I'm getting really frustrated!!

    Scheduled delivery 8/6 with overnight. Mines still in the build stage too. I guess we'll see

    I feel like I'm on a high school lunch line. The wait is taking forever, and there's people cutting and getting food before me.

    When do they tell us what our new estimated shipping date is? I've seen all of these people with delays, but I've heard nothing on my order.

    My Shipping date is in two days, me and farelli09 pretty much have the same order; but I got the 1720. Its still in build stage... if it gets delayed on tuesday, I'm gonna raise a storm at dell

    My ESD is 8/10 with next day delivery. So I expect to receive my 1520 on 8/13. In fact, I was assured by an online CSR last week that it will ship on or before 8/10. I'll call later next week to check on it. . If there is a delay I'm going to be mighty disappointed :mad: Ive already got my speech ready for when and if there is a delay. Probably won't do any good but it will make me feel better :)

    exactly, I believed CS when they told me my laptop is "Guarrented" to ship out on the 7th, now I'm sad =(

    I love when they make these "promises". I wish they could just tell us what's really going on.

    It's going to be mid-august before I receive this thing. ****ing ridiculous. I get more and more angry everyday...my excitement has turned into anger.

    The guarantee is basically "If we dont ship it then, you get your money back, if you want!"

    Which really isnt saying much.

    I'm in the same boat Stacy. August 6th with overnight. The bad thing is I leave for college on the 11th, and I'll be furious if I don't have a computer for school. I'll be raising a storm as well.

    Well, my ship date is today, but still in build stage....Hmmmm
    I've had two different Dell reps tell me in writing that "They have now taken ownership of my order"/...Yea right. Puppy better ship today or I'm going to demand a free carrying case

    They didn't tell me anything about my ship date. I found out by logging into my account. That's when I saw the new ship date.

    Make sure they give you the right size. I had an online chat yesterday and they tried to give me a case for a 15" laptop when mine is a 17". And you know what else? I asked that rep what STAGE of production my laptop was in. (I already knew b/c I'd called the automated number.) But they couldn't even tell me THAT! I mean do they not have access to that information? Sheesh.

    Terrible news. I got into an online chat and was told my ship date was delayed til the 16th. No phone call or email recieved. And when I asked for compensation, the rep told me I couldn't get anyhting til the order ships. When I asked why it was delayed, all he would tell me was "it's backordered".
    I'm a little frustrated right now, especially when i was guarenteed it would ship by today.

    I like the fact that they wait till the shipping day to post a new delay and screw our happiness, why cant they revise the dates as soon as they know it. So much for dell restructuring and trying to "Streamline operations"......stupid F#$%@$% morons.

I got a message from a computer voice today on my cell (which isn't the primary number that I have on my account) telling me that my item was backlogged and the new estimated ship date is August 28th. No e-mail, no message on my primary phone number, and the webiste isn't updated. I just checked it and it still said Not shipped with tomorrow as the delivery date. All day I called the order status number and after I said learn more and went through the whole process, it said something like it didn't have any more information on this order instead of what the shipping date was.

    I don't really know what to do now. I want to call and get some kind of compensation. I've been waiting 25 days, and there were no delays when I ordered it. It's so annoying.

    Funny, I'm in the same frickin boat as you. Its probably the darn green we chose. I called the automated status number and says its in the build stage, but mysteriously the ship date is gone????
    I used the stupid live chat thing and the lady says its delayed untill the 28th now. Why???? "Some back ordered parts" What parts??? "Sorry sir, but I dont have that info.
    Well, what can you do for me besides I'm sorry. "$75 rebate off your current order"
    She did give me the number for order changes cause "Maybe you could cancel and reorder with parts that are not back logged"

    So...I call that number and, after holding for 12 minutes, he says its scheduled to ship today..........Ahhhhhhhhhhhh WTF!!!!
    I tell him the lady on the live chat said its delayed till the 28th.
    He refreshes his info and again says it will ship today..."anything else sir"

    Oh F it, I'm sick of these non internal communicating @%^$%^#&^@.

    I'll just wait and see, but I'd bet what I paid for my 1520 that its not shipping today

    I'm on the phone now, seeing if I can get anything. She just transferred me to her manager. She asked me if I wanted to talk to the manager, and I asked her if it would do any good, and she said yes, so we'll see what she says. Be back in a few.
