    Is this a good computer for hooking up to a large HDTV? It has a VGA port which is what you need for this right? I read something about a HDMI port, do you need this instead of a VGA port? I am new to this so thanks for the help

    VGA = Analog
    HDMI = Protected, High Definition
    DVI = Digital
    S-Video = I think, digital, not sure.

    But you can hook the laptop to the TV with any of those outputs - IF you're television has the port. If it doesn't you might need some cables.. lol

    Analog is well analog, if you're computer screen (desktop) is connected VGA and you think it looks great then you can decide. But digital is better then analog and High definition is obviously better then plain digital.

    I don't notice much or any difference while using the desktop. but in movies you will see the difference most likely.

    Read next time, then think. :rolleyes:

    VGA to DVI cables,
    If you shop around you can find a VGA to HDMI.

    As useless as those cords can be as far as image quality goes, they exist, so people can bridge some connections.
