40 days. I only made one enquiry as to what was going on the whole time too. Adeline Yeoh is a VERY nice sales rep, she replied freakin' fast to my email. Aussie Dell is on the ball. Thanks to her for the free AIO printer too .

Although the wait was... quite testing (I'm usually very patient), I'm glad it's over. Now I just gotta get my hands on it!

Can anyone recommend a nice backpack-style notebook carry bag for the 1720?

now i wish i had ordered an 1721 though..but Turion's 1MB cache is kind of too small. 4MB ones kill battery quickly. so 2MB is the ideal for me

Nope not at all... Makes me feel like I'm not alone out here ... it does seem though that are 17 inch screens take longer to be shipped out than the 14s and 15s. So its a disadvantage now... but when my laptop gets here... I'll forget all about it.

 

I've been holding off replying to any posts until my EDD arrived. Bottom line, original order date was 1 August with an EDD of 29 August. Actual delivery date was 31 August.

Reading posts here for the last half hour about poor experiences and delays just makes me nervous and not too optimistic that I'm gonna get a good computer.

it's my first laptop. I wouldn't be able to tell if the screen is grainy or not. I have learned so much here from you guys, but i should be feeling excitement, and i don't. just nervous.

i do see some people getting a 17 inch blue one finally though. so, who knows.

i can't help but think i'm making a mistake, and maybe i really don't need everything i'm getting, or a pc at all. I have second thoughts every day. $1,600 is a lot of money for me.

 

IT SHIPPED. After 46 days its on it way. I have a tracking number from DHL.

Dell chat CSR says it's the color and processor. I called order modification and just changing it to black would still delay it to Sept 25. I guess it's the processor then.

 

my 1721 blue was received by dhl yesterday and they say will ship next day by 3pm, but i dont think that dhl ships on sundays

Happy Dance! Happy Dance! My 1721 is shipped as of today! 40 days baby! So, looks like the vostro I ordered for my daughter yesterday will come the same day as mine! Insane! Ordered her a 1400 yesterday and the dumb thing is in boxing already today! Sheesh if I had known!

next day delivery stuck on my page but ground express was what it shipped as on DHL website

I called and spoke to a sales Rep who told me it was my processor that was holding up my laptop and its the same as yours... but my ship date hasn't been pushed to october... and i pray it does not

 

what the number for order modification???? i ordered the same f'in processor but am willin to pay more to get it

That is insane... The delays are just getting ridiculous... They should really be trying harder to remedy the situation...

 

The delay is because of your processor. I just talked to several CSR and they say the T7300 is "out of stock". When I asked them why that matters since back in July when my notebook went to "build" it was not out of stock, they just say its "out of stock now" and I'll have to wait till October when they hope to get new 7300s from Intel.

Well I just got an email from DELL and mine has shipped
So there is hope out there for everyone.

 

They all have their stories on whats out of stock....Lids, Processors, Graphics cards, and to make things worse when one comes into stock another goes out just as fast....The delays may never end being how backed up they really are. Look how many people on this board have not recieved theirs, and thats a tiny percent of how many people in the world actually ordered them.

 

7/18 was my order date for my 1720
