    6/9 cell battery - people with experience please

    inspiron 1420 - i ordered the 9 cell

    though Im thinking of changing to the 6 cell to save some money.

    9cell on reviews say it lasts over 3hours on a dvd drain so im guessing at least 4hours with normal usage/wireless/chatting/word

    they don't have any 6 cell stats out and I don't think anyone has a new inspiron quite yet. does anyboy know from prior experience what the diff is between a 9 cell and a 6 cell or what would you estimate the 6 cell to last about?

    6 cell will last about 3:30 hours normal tasking 2:30 watching a movie and 2:00 hours playing a game ( empire earth) add 30 mins to an hour to it

    just using basic math, if a 9 cell lasts 3 hrs on dvd drain, 6 cell will probably last 2 hrs for dvd drain

    phamzter i think it doesn't work out that way - though I'm not sure why. thats what i thought until i read a review that said the 9cell will give you basically double what you get on a 6 cell.

    i may be wrong on that though

    dell claims the 9 cell gives 50 percent more than the 6 cell, so if the 6 cell gives 2 hrs per say, the 9 cell would give 3 hrs.
