    It's DDR2. To get the GDDR3 from Dell you'll have to go for the XPS 1530. For the price difference, I'd say stick with the Vostro - DDR2 still delivers pretty good performance and it's certainly not worth several hundred more for GDDR3 as it usually is going with the XPS 1530.

    FYI, the only other 8600m GT options are the Apple MBP and Asus G1S

    There's the C90S too, but that's less common. T61P with FX570 counts in a way as well. Not sure if anything else.

    Well, they discontinued the gddr3 gpus for the C90S due to heat problems.
