9400 Fan Sounds

Hey all, i have sensative ears. When the fan is going it creats a high pitched sound.

Is there any way to do something so it doesnt make that sound?

I called dell they said if it is the fan that is how they are made and i cant do anything about it.

 

I have set my fans to max speed on i9kfangui and I dont hear a high pitch noise.... in fact, even at full speed the cooling system is somehwta quiet.

There most likely is some kind of minor defect with your fan that makes a high pitch noise. When talking with dell I would exadurate the situation untill they actually do something about it. If they dont help you, I would threaten to return because of it. I guess Dell hates getting returns and will do what they can to prevent you from doing it.

 

Thanks mate, they wanted me to record it, which wasnt possiable as it is a high pitched sound thats bearly audiable but it is very annoying.

Yep i have a 30 day satification guarentee so might use that.

 

Do you think i should get them to ship me a lg screen at the same time or would i be pushing my luck?

 

On the subject of the LG lcd, my replacement came with an LG --- talk about a big difference. Light leakage is barely visible. The Samsung LCD I had on the old lappie was horrible - lots of leakage at the bottom center.

Don't screw around with Dell... Contact them ASAP (before your satisfaction period is up) and demand a replacement.

Another strange problem just occured. I restart comp.

The screen goes past the loading windows pic, but then its blank, with only the power light on and the bluetooth.

I have to do a hard reboot 2nd time same issue, 3rd restart it only logged in after about 10 seconds on that blank screen then loaded windows.

Anyone else have had this problem? When i mean blank i mean there is nothing on screen, all you can see is the screen leakage

This was recorded from a desktop tower and produces the sound too, but louder and not as high pitch.

My lappy is not as loud but the sound is more high pitched.
