Like, HDMI or anything?
I want to be able to play games through my TV sometime if it's possible, also, getting HD movies and playing them on the TV would kick ass.

use the VGA, both of my HDTVs have HDMI and VGA connectors. I don't see any difference in picture quality between the two.
-
In using VGA would I also need to hook up the sound with a seperate cable?
-
Yes. You'll probably want a headphone to component cable. (the red/white)
They sell them at Radio Shack. (at least that's where I got mine) -
Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
Most TV's also have an s-video input; I usually use the s-video input when I hook my lappy to a TV.

on the same note, would the 1500 with 8600M GT support a HD signal (ie use vga to Component cables to hook up to a TV)
-
yes usually VGA can carry up to 1080i signal, same with component (reg blue green)
to get sound, use 3.5mm (headphone) to RCA (red/white) < not called component -
would it be better to use s-video or VGA/headphone jack?? Much of a difference in the two??
-
VGA is better, because S-Video max out at 480i for NTSC and 576i for PAL. But good enough for standard DVD quality stuff, not for HD
-
Yeah VGA is much better but VGA to component adaptors are a pretty expensive because they need some powered active device to actually do such kind of conversion....
It is better to get a S-Video to Component cable from DELL which also outputs SPDIF in the same adaptor.... So you can watch your video as well as get 5.1 audio too on your TV
Any way to connect a Vostro 1500 to a TV?
