Australian M1330 purchase

Mine is meant to be delivered today. Still no phone call from courier.

My status also shown Loading to export and EST deliver on 4th of Sep. Hmm what a long wait...

 

So is mine, I called the courier and was told it will be here before 5, this is one day where staying after 4 won't bother me .

 

should get mine this Monday

 

I got a response from the CSR. They said

"Kindly be advised that your order is currently in queue and waiting for the parts to come in on 31 Aug. Should you change the color of the laptop, we will need to cancel your current order and place a new order which might further delay your delivery."

So they didn't acknowledge anything about WHAT parts my m1330 is waiting for. Oh well, they'll be getting a call on 31 Aug.

 

i didn't fix it. It seems fixed it self. Also i find that the Firefox on Vista don't like Carsales.com or Carpoint.com.

On mine the firefox just crash if i go to the website that those 2. The IE is fine though.

 

Got an email from a CSR saying that

So, nothing new. What parts are short we still do not know. I guess they answer the emails by opening the Order Status Page and transforming the picture "Work in Progress" and estimated delivery date into one polite sentence.

Work in progress since July 17th?????? So I guess my laptop has by now, after 6 weeks of being built at least the Enter key, but you never know.

 

Just got mine about an hour ago, wiped the hdd and am installing vista ultimate 64bit, once done will install ubuntu tribe 5

Usually you will received a call from them a day before when they are ready to deliver.

However let me arrange the delivery for you, appreciate your advise whether can i arrange for a Friday delivery (31-Aug) for you? It will be between 9am-5pm

Well I got an email from my rep today. She said my Dell was on the flight from Malaysia. Tomorrow (Thursday) it will go through customs and on Friday it will be released to the courier. She said that means I will get my Dell on Monday. Man I wish they delivered on weekends. Would make bloody sense to deliver on weekends. People are HOME!!!

That is interesting. I have ordered a system with the same parameters a week before you... and there you go... you have yours and mine is still in build stage... Is it a queue or a stack?

And now I'm pissed....so unfair... just noticed, that dell.com.au has a nice M1330 offer ... 2.4Ghz option, which was not available when I ordered (2 months ago), 250Gb HD instead of 160Gb, 2 years cover and a free bag. Everything is just 40 dollars more expensive than what I paid for 2.2Ghz, 160GB HD and standard 1 year cover, no bag.

My M1330 has just been built... this is just bull****... should I cancel and order a new one???

I ordered a customised black M1330 w/LED on the 19 August, with an estimated delivery date of 2 October.

It shipped today, 31 August.

how long did it take to get the notebook once the order status said "shipped from factory" .. mine was shipped on 30th and EDD is 6th of September... Monday maybe?

 

mine was on "shipped from factory" for 2 days then courier had it

 

I just got mine today. I'm loving it! It was definately worth the wait. This is one sexy beast. For all the people waiting hang in there guys. The screen is awesome. There are some build issues but Im not fussed at all. Enjoy it guys!!

Here's my lengthy, lengthy story:
I ordered on the 21st July, paid on the 26th but they couldn't find the payment til the 31st July. Original EDD was 12th August, but that quickly slipped back to 24th August. It then slipped again to 12th September. At this point I emailed my rep telling her how unhappy I was at being without a computer for so long. She rang me back a bit later and said she could offer a free printer, or 2gb thumb drive. I went for the printer, and thought "ah well better than nothing".

Then on thursday, I saw that for only $70 more than what I paid, you now get 250gb HDD (as opposed to 160gb), 2 years complete cover (as opposed to 1), and a free messenger bag. I wrote yet another email explaining how frustrating I found this, coupled with the fact that 2 of my friends who ordered after me have already had their orders shipped while mine was still in build.

The result:
My wonderful rep has organised the upgrade to 250gb hdd and 2 year completecover! Awesome

 

Yep, that's the TMD panel. The CMO would read CMO1309 if I recall correctly.

 

Hey...congratulations...I wanted the same thing...at least the 2 years of cover, but my notebook has been already shipped from the factory at the time the new offer appeared on the dell website... NO HDD upgrade, no 2 years of cover for me neither.... consider yourself lucky... I was really thinking of canceling my order and re-order one more time... but at that stage they wanted me to pay 99 dollars cancellation fee and then...who knows how long would I wait again....

My Notebook is in Sydney...nice.. BUT it takes the courier company 2-7 days to deliver my stupid notebook within Sydney. This was my first and last Dell order... Waiting for the notebook for almost 2 months and then some chick tells me that they will deliver it within another week.

The best thing is, I have noted a wrong phone number as well... does anybody know the name of the courier company dell uses in Sydney? The number was something like 1300 881 326.

Hmm, that's really strange, d01. I just got a call from a rep in Sydney, who has arranged delivery for tomorrow between 2pm and 5pm.

Did you get told by the Courier that the delivery will be in 2-7 days? A Dell rep should give you a call soon. My status is exactly the same as yours - arrived in Australia Main Hub on 02-Sep-2007.

 

I got a phone call from the actual courier company. I think they are located in Botany. They have to ship it to North Sydney. They called me around 3p.m. and I can't imagine that they can't deliver that thing within 2 hours from place A to place B within Sydney. And then of course she started to blame APEC and asked me if it was ok to get it on Monday..... hell no.... I want it yesterday.

Hey guys. Received your notebooks yet? Well yous will love it wen u get it.. im still learning and enjoying mine.
Webcam is really good when using it on MSN messenger or somthin. Its got really good extra effects. i luv the effects lol.

 

I'm starting to get kinda annoyed with the Uneven base. It's Wobbly, and i'm kinda worried to ask dell to replace the whole bottom end. I read somewhere that the dell technician just stuffed all of his m1330 for just replacing the base cover.

or should i just try and shave one of the rubber

 

How wobbly is it? I think mine is a bit wobbly.. but not really?

 

I received the free Dell 810 all-in-one printer today, the one they gave for free because of the delay.

 

I'm not sure, they didn't say what the courier was. Maybe it's possible for you to pick it up from them if they actually have it in their warehouse?

 

Can you guys write the name of the Courier Companies delivering your notebooks? I guess in Sydney it should be just one company..maybe I'll pick it up myself...can't wait.... but I don't know any information...hmmm .. I have messed up the phone number the chick gave me...damn....

 

I think it's about 1 or 2mm off on the HDD section, which is bottom left corner.

Yeah thats where mine is too.. about 1mm, but i dont notice it? do you notice its wobbly when ur using it.

 

Well my M1330 was delivered today!
I called Dell and asked for them to please get it to me today which they did!
All good so far, no wobbly or obivous build issues...
