    I ordered a replacement battery for my Studio 1535, type code WU946, (6 cell, 11,1 V, WH56)

The one I got seem to have the same qualities: (6 cell, 11,1 V, WH56), but have the code WU960.

Is that a problem, or is it OK to use the WU960 in the Dell Studio 1535?

What is the current rating on the original and replacement? That code could be the manufacture product number what you should be looking at is Current and Voltage ratings that they match if your getting a matching part.

As I wrote in the previous post, the "ratings" or the capacities in the WU960 are the same as in the original WU946,
    that is: 6 cell, 11,1 V, Wh56.

So the only difference that I can see is the type code. Instead of type code WU 946 it is written WU960.

I'll be glad if any one could explain what the difference between this two types is.
and tell me if it is dangerous to use the WU960 in the Dell Studio 1535

There is no practical difference. Dell has different part codes for the same part made by different suppliers. The part codes may also be different for the same part in different machines (ie 1535 and 1537).

    Hi

    Thanks for the answer.
I bought the battery from DealExtreme and I asked the support if they could guarantee that the WU 960 did not harm my laptop.
I just got these answer: Dear Customer,
After checking, the WU960 battery couldn't be used in Dell Studio 1535.
    Yours Sincerely,
    Customer Service

They also offered me to send back the battery with total refund.
But since this take time I would be glad if the battery function in my laptop.
If you are right and the type code is not that important, do you think it is safe to use the WU960 in the Studio 1535?

By the way, Ill'be glad if sombody could indicate where you can buy a good laptop battery not too expensive.

    Thanks for the answer.

I inserted the WU 960 in my Studio 1535 and the battery seem to function very well ;)

(It saved me a lot of problem with the refund etc)

    Best wishes Rea
