My blue was ordered on 7/11, and I just called and found out that it is in the kitting stage.
I am cancelling it though.
I used a new coupon, and ordered a black one (With the same specs) for $200 less.
Black: $1072
Blue: $1264
I might try getting dell to give the blue the black's price, but I doubt that they will do that.

Kitting stage, from my understanding, comes even before the build stage. And, if I am correct, most of us that say we are in build but are being delayed, are actually in "pre-production" -- and cannot move to kitting because the parts aren't there.

Kitting is still better than the machine saying build stage. Kitting means that something is actually happening with my order (well, something other than being delayed)

Has anyone heard of dell matching the price of their own computer after you order it?
I hope I can get the blue with the price of the black (it'll get here sooner too)

Customer care says to call sales about my issue
Sales says to contact customer care -
they are offering me $100 coupon or $50 credit
I may take the $100 coupon, cancel both orders, and then replace the black with the $100 coupon
Or I could put it on ebay. -

To let you guys know, the customer care woman said that my order was in the "burnin' " stage, meaning that software is being installed.
Phone status says testing stage. -
Well, I just got delayed until 8/28. The guy from corporate resolutions said if I change my order to black then it goes off today's pricing which is $400 more for the same system in black. I asked to be compensated for the delays and he said because it is not Dell's fault, but a supplier shortage, he can't justify compensation. So now I sit it out & wait.
Original ship date 8/9 New Ship date 8/28 -
Does anyone know exactly when they charge you? I have to wait a day or 2 for the $100 coupon, and I don't want to cancel the blue without the coupon being received.
I think they charge when the order ships.
