does anyone know?
if u buy 1530 thru DELL business site,
does it come with no crapware installed on Win ME 2
like the vostros?
-
Windows Millenium Edition or Win ME is no longer supported by Microsoft. Why would you want it on your new laptop?
-
He is referring to Windows ME 2, aka Vista.
-
Aw, someone's trying to be witty.
-
Honestly..I work in IT and *try* to keep up to date. I had never heard anybody call Vista "Win ME 2" before. For me the expression made more sense translated into "Windows Millenium Edition too". (Some people don't know how to spell and therefore use numbers instead of letters.)
As far as the "crapware" goes, surefire, having read all those posts about people reinstalling Vista right when they get their new machine I think there is enough "crapware" on the new machines. -
He must never have actually used Windows ME...
-
And it didn't work.
Completely useless and misleading thread. -
I can see the similarities between the two.
-
There's absolutely no comparison. Windows ME was complete and utter crap. Vista is certainly usable.
-
guys forget the win me 2 = win vista issue
the real que is if purchased thru dell business site
does it come with no crapware like the vostros -
What's wrong with just doing a clean format as soon as you get it? Personally I'd do it regardless anyway......even if there wasn't any bloatware on it to begin with.
Call Dell and ask them if all else fails. -
Work in IT? That explain's it... no on in IT is supporting Vista yet. If you had followed any windows Vista sites you would be familiar with the term Vista = "Windows Me II" Google it - countless references on it
-
I've followed several Vista sites and none of them were proclaiming Vista to be ME II. What a stupid comparison!
-
I remember the days of Windows Me...
-
Getting to the OP's question. They will use the same image on the 1530 no matter where you get it from. However, if your that worried, just install windows vista on it again when you get it. It will take at most 2 hours to completely install and get your programs/drivers installed.
-
I think OP just want to avoid spending hours of reinstalling OS. Me, personnaly, I just rip apart the OS and reinstall the drivers again, but it took me 4 hours instead of 2 hours like nizzy1115 said because I image the HDD 2 times (Base Image, Clean Image).
Buy 1530 thru Business Site - No crapware on Win ME 2
