Hi, is it possible to buy a Vostro without working a small business?
I'd like to buy one for myself (high school student) instead of an Inspiron 1520 because it is cheaper.
Ofc paying tax on it too.

Here in Australia it's all fine, never got asked for company details. The dell reps even encourage students to buy Vostros as they're cheaper than the Inspiron counterparts.
Not sure about other countries, as you sometimes read about people having to give fake company names to be able to order. Not sure what that's about. -
Sounds great. What would you recommend me to do? Call Dell and place an order there or do it through the internet and just give a fake company name like "Afkefaoek"

You don't have to be a business to order a vostro. I think I put in "na" for company name. Got my vostro 1400 last week. It's AWESOME, small, light, and performs close to my desktop. All for $600. NICE!!!

You should be able to say YOU are the small business. You should not need a business name.
However in many states you will have to pay tax on the purchase even though it is a mail order purchase. -
Im in Sweden so there's tax yes.
I placed an order for the 1500.
Can't wait for it to arrive

Just put your name in the business name when it asks for it. I bought my Vostro 1500 like this and also my Laditude x300 before also like this.

Nice!
I did.
You got any problems with the headphone outlet, like the 1520? -
there was a little subtle static. i haven't used it much as i use my usb sound card for my desktop speakers. (i just tried it to see if i could tell what people were talking about. its not bad enough that i would care.
Buying Vostro.
