Hey, im looking to upgrade my memory to faster 800 mhz corsair units, you think vista 32 will work with it, if it does, will it utilize the memory effectively?
-
-
Will downclock to 667Mhz.
-
Poohee! Is that for real?
-
Yes. You have to wait for Montevina if you want your RAM at 800MHz.
-
Yes, Santa Rosa shipsets only support memory upto DDR2 667. ANything higher will downclock.
Intels next chipset should add support for DDR2 800. -
Montevina up to 1066Mhz I hear. But higher CL so well don't get too excited.
-
No, 1066mhz is for the Front Side Bus of the processor, not RAM. RAM goes up to 800mhz.
-
You are correct in so far as I was wrong, it can use 1333Mhz DDR3 RAM. So I guess if prizes were given out for being closer? I would win.
Here is a
link.
And as I said CL makes it less than a perfect math equation but 1333Mhz regardless of CL is going to be faster.
Can the m1530 utilize 800mhz memory?
