Got my 830 at the end of June but didn't have time to open her up until yesterday. The light bleed at the bottom is a little disappointing but what is driving me nuts is the mouse is clicking by itself seemingly at random. I've tried using the touchpad and even just the touch stick and it will drag icons, close windows, etc wherever the mouse happens to be. Has anyone else had, or for that matter, heard, of this problem. At first I thought I was nudgin the touchpad somehow, but I used one finger to manipulate the touchstick careful to avoid everything else, and its still acting funky. ANY help would be great, I don't want to start having to deal with the warranty right out of the box. :(

The stick is too sensitive. The problem is with the "tap to click" feature which allows you to tap the stick to click. So when you re-place your finger on the track stick, there is a good chance it will view that as a "tap" and then do a right-click. I quickly turned this off on my wife's new D630. Just open up the Dell GUI under Control Panel -> Mouse, and then turn off "Tap to Click" under the "track stick settings" or something like that. It can be a good feature if implemented well like in the Synaptics trackpoint on ThinkPads, but Alps (the supplier for Latitude touchpad/trackstick) is not as good. Hope that helps.

I have never heard of that feature, but it sounds good in theory. I just followed your advice and of course it worked. Thanks a bunch.
