Hi,
I just wanted to know if it is possible to upgrade a 9400 that comes with the poor intel graphics card. I would like to purchase a 7800 or maybe even a newer 7900 when they released.
Will it be possible to upgrade or is there something to prevent such an upgrade.
Regards

If you have integrated graphics you will not be able to upgrade. Sorry.
If you have a dedicated in there already and want to upgrade, you can only upgrade to cards that were available for that model.

hi,
what is this then?
CARD (CIRCUIT), GRAPHICS, 256MB, M54, 9400, IMGA3
any ideas? -
Hmmm quick question, why get that spec if you want to play games? or didn't you have a choice?
You can't upgrade.
Well at the moment anyway. Most likely never.
Lol.

My guess is that describes the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator which would be the integrated card. As USAF said, this would be impossible to upgrade because it is attached to the motherboard.

no your wrong i have the same laptop and the (intergrated card isnt really intergrated at all) so you can up grade.. dell told me i could go to a 7900gt 512mb card

Integrated means the graphics chip is INTEGRATED in to the Chipset. The graphics core of all Intel GMA series cards are integrated in to the north bridge chip. Either you mis understood the DELL rep or he didnt know what he was talking about. The only way to upgrade is to replace the whole motherboard.

What he said is 100% Correct.
if u had the x1400 u could get the 7900GS
but u have INTEGRATED!
