    I would guess for the price it's 1440x900 as thats the lowest res they offered with the 1720 (1920x1200 is the high res option).

    Its an 8600m GT not GS and should run WoW and Counterstrike fine providing the CPU isn't a bottleneck (it's the CPU that allows it to sell at that price ie it's fairly old and slow compared to the Core 2 Duo's).

    Battery life on a 6 cell is a couple of hours on power saver.

    I don't think anyone makes a 1280 x 800 17" panel, so the 1440 x 900 is at least 99% probable.

    I'd be surprised if it is an 8600GS - the 1720 was only ever spec'd with 8400GS or 8600GT. The only 17" with a 8600GS is the Vostro 1710 and while I guess it's possible it could be put in a 1720 I'm more likely to believe it's a typo.
