Does anybody know anything about the Samsung
LTN156HL02-B01 panel? There's nothing on panelook.com about it.
A UK vendor has these in stock atm

No experimenting bro

Yep! A great replacement is this one;

Yes, it would be a gamble, not happy about buying a panel with unknown specs (response time, colour accuracy in particular). Vendor has no idea on these. But I need to repair our 7559 with something; it's been out of operation for over a week now.
-
If you are a professional, get AU Optronics B156HAN01.2. If not get LG LP156WF6-SPB1.
If you can lay your hands on the actual Samsung LTN156HL01-102 SDC324C. Please do.

I tried download on my dell 7559 but the download stops automatically
-
At the moment, I can't get any of those decent panels here in the UK unfortunately
-
Get me a list of ur options, I'll research for you. I bought a panel that was 'potentially' great. Instead of proven panels, don't make that mistake. U could be lucky yes, but let's not disturb luck, he too needs a vacation.
Or you can buy from China
it takes about a week to get to the UK i believe.

Thanks, the only options that sellers have in stock in the UK at present are:
* LG Philips LP156WF4 of some flavour or other (D1 or K1?) - sellers are very vague on the exact model.
* The aforementioned Samsung LTN156HL02-B01 which one vendor claims to have stock of - don't know what the detailed specs are of this panel
So not much choice in the UK at present!Last edited: Jan 27, 2016 -
I've queried Aliexpress seller regarding an AUO panel.
I think the LG would be great but its only mediocre brightness has me leaning towards the AUO. 1200:1 contrast and close to 300nits brightness is a win for me, and 60% of AdobeRGB is very impressive.Last edited: Jan 27, 2016Stanley08 likes this. -
IMO the screen appears brighter in person, but still I think it looks fairly bright and I am very happy with it. Hope this helps someone looking for an example of what the LG screen looks like in person.Last edited: Jan 28, 2016 -
Lol. Cool. We can obviously not see how great the screen is because of the camera and light conditions and all. However, i can see it had some brightness to it and i can see the whites quality compared to my HL02-301 on stock settings. I can see its not as bright as the HL01-102 also. But, i see a very good display
Where did you steal my wallpaper from?

Hehe I wanted a sort of 1 for 1 comparison.
-
Good. Well, there is Chinese new year. If at all i will get a new screen. It could take as long as 2 weeks for it to ship out. I might just take the 80% refund and use this screen. It's decent enough but not as good as i want it to be. Speaking mostly of brightness.

What i cannot explain is how it looks 30 to 40% brighter from viewing angles than head-on. If it looked like that head-on, it will be a KILLER display. Quality from viewing angles look different. Lol. I can't understand.
Bad brightness distribution perhaps?

My display or yours? Honestly I think it has more to do with the camera, lighting sensor and background etc. Its really hard to judge any display via a video camera lol.
I'm extremely pleased with the LG display. I'm done upgrading/modding the laptop. I plan on keeping this Dell laptop until the Pascal GPUs drop and then I will upgrade again. This is part of the reason I decided to go with the 960m laptop. I figure its a decent stop gap until the new GPUs come out. And unless a better screen comes along, I will take this screen out and use it in my new 15.6" laptop if its compatible. -
Lol. Mine. Ur display is bright enough i can tell from the video. In comparison with my video. It is bright enough. HL01-102 has monster brightness (up to 344) to be fair so should not be comparing.
I know the AUO is better in terms of contrast and sRGB and all. But to me, brightness is a big deal. It makes the screen look better. Well, more attractive. Well, u just see things better! In a different 'LIGHT'. Haha!

I have ordered the LG Philips LP156WF6-SPB1 from an ebay seller in Germany (talum-it), who claim they have that exact panel in stock.
We shall see! -
I hope u get the real thing. I'm so tempted to get the AUO B156HAN01.2
I'm very very very tempted to get it but that brightness, if it's low. I'll hate it. I have asked my seller to ship to me the LP156WF6-SPB1 but i have about 16hrs to make a final decision. Lol. Hopefully i make the right choice.

Thanks, I'm also still waiting on another ebay seller who claims he is awaiting imminent stock of the mythical Samsung LTN156HL06 C01 8-bit panel. Might just buy one for my Alienware 15 R2 if he comes good on his claimStanley08 likes this.

A link to both Ebay sellers would be much appreciated!

I'm sold on the AUO panel, provided it's QC is as good as the OEM reviews make out. The Y50 replacement panel thread claims a lot of issues with ghosting etc. But they also were very light on with details on who they bought it for, hwinfo dumps etc. So no idea if their panels were genuine or the sellers they bought them from (only one listed his panel had a different hwinfo from the sticker and commented the screen was horrible straight from install).
Most of these issues should be alleviated by a trusted seller.
As of this morning my i7559 is "Ship from Factory" with ETA of the 4th. M.2 SSD and RAM will have arrived by then, but who knows how long a screen will take to get here.. Usually Aliexpress sellers take weeks for me with China Post, so I might have to put in a little extra to get DHL for an AUO panel. -
Well, i just sent a message to my seller telling him i prefer the AUO B156HAN01.2 so he should test for dead pixels/little to no bleed then ship it. But if not, he should send the LP156WF6-SPB1. I don't want to risk asking for the HL01 again. He might send HL01-101 instead of HL01-102 and that would be a disaster
Well, 7hrs time difference. It's 11:48pm now. He might ship it before i wake up. He should surprise me. I'm done bothering myself. Hahaha!

I've asked him for the same panel so hopefully he has some or can get a box of some to test for us.
He's 3 hours behind me (Australia) so hopefully I should get a result today
-
Sent him another message since i'm getting impatient, he lists a glossy version (no thanks, this ain't no dirty touch screen), so surely he can get anti-glare too.
From all research the 01.2 should still be in production. The only newer panel is the 03.0 but its 40 pin eDP, not 30. -
talum-it, they are actually based in Talinn in Estonia, but shipping is only 2 business days and is reasonable:
http://www.ebay.de/itm/171952647263
This link shows the LP156WF4(SP)(B1) but they claim to have stock of the LP156WF6-SPB1, which is what they should be sending me.
The other seller is called bumblebee:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-15-6-...833555?hash=item35e803db53:g:b2QAAOSwEppURSaG
They are a bit overpriced but are UK based (Ipswich). They have no stock of the LP156WF6-SPB1 at present, but did have the AUO B156HAN01.2 last week. They claim to be getting the fabled Samsung LTN156HL06 C01 "very soon"
I hope this helps you!Last edited: Jan 29, 2016 -
Thanks very much! I was actually in contact with bumblebee last week but they didn't have the SP B1 or HL01-102 which are the 2 screens I am now in the hunt for. I would take the HL06 though haha. Hopefully you get a genuine LP156WF6 SPB1, if so I will be purchasing from the same Ebay seller!

I had a screen like that. It's TN panel. IDK about urs tho
-
Lol. It's an IPS panel. Why would i buy a TN panel?
Anybody have an idea what this is?

More crap you don't need and didn't ask for

anybody having problems with the wifi after the windows 10 update of january 27th?
after I updated it (today) my wifi has been loosing not connection but internet, card remains connected to router and network but after some minutes it looses internet (web pages dont load and so) any suggestions ? I installed again the driver but still getting the problem, I dont think is a network problem cause im at work and partners are not having this issue.
EDIT. issue solved... no idea what happened... or how it got fixed...Last edited: Jan 29, 2016 -
just wondering did anybody using the latest nvidia driver 361.75 ?
if yes do you guys facing any issue ?
I still using 359.06 as last time using 361.43 causing me get BSOD -
I'm using 361.43 and I've got no issues here.
From what I'm to understand, the 860M and 960M cards have had the worst kind of luck with drivers.
I'm actually kinda curious as to what the best WiFi card is for this thing since I'm starting to see some of those issues everyone's spoken of. -
no idea as I previously using 361.43 causing me BSOD (with just surfing internet) and do my office works
so Google about it, is the driver issue, a lot using facing BSOD with 361.43 driver
that why using 359.06 until now, just wondering is there any issue with 361.75 -
Interesting... Have you done any memory tests to ensure your RAM is functioning properly? That's what I've noticed happens most often with random BSODs.
-
The only system lock I've experienced was my own doing when I decided to try -200mV undervolt on the CPU, it worked in BF4 for about 20 seconds before it hard locked lol. I guess I'll have to settle with -170mV
I've had a single driver crash on the Intel drivers, again my own doing because I force installed the latest intel drivers INF. It also caused a host of other issues, like being black screened upon wake from sleep.
Other than that, I haven't had a single driver crash, or BSOD that was any fault of the laptop.
I am running the latest version of the Nvidia drivers (361.75) for the last couple days without issue.
@imglidinhere I like that overclock on the GPU. I'm able to go +600mhz on the MEM, but I think beyond that I was getting issues. I backed it down for saftey. I figure if the GPU fries over time, I have 2 years warranty. Do you also have the lottery ticket Samsung memory? The overclock really really helps this GPU out. I gain around 14fps vs stock on BF4. -
Did you get the right screen in the end?
-
Hi yes, the ram was fine
assume that if my ram got issue, that impossible other else are having bsod issue as well
you can Google it nvidia driver 361.43 bsod issue, a lot people facing this issue
-
Finally gotten a my 7559 and it seems like a LG panel according to Device Manager and HWinfo
Unfortunately the laptop is not detecting the SSD I got (salvaged from a Lenovo X1), need to check with the buyer again.
And the 4gb DDR3L I bought is causing BSOD.
Also, anyone else having scaling problem in Win10? -
I managed to apply a new profile to my Samsung HL02-301 screen and it looks really great now. Awesome even. When i have time, I'll try get hold of my friend's HL01 and compare again.
In having second thoughts about returning it now, because I'm not sure the AUO B156HAN01.2 will be this bright.

WELL WELL WELL
My i7559 rocked up today. LG 156WF6 Screen installed! Not BOE. DELL P/N: KFKV0.
very divided now whether I keep this panel in or install the AUO when it arrives. I guess it doesn't hurt to try! Can do a comparison vid too.Stanley08 likes this. -
Lol. U bought WF6-SPB1?
Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk -
Nope. My i7559 FHD model arrived from Dell with the LG panel. Not a BOE one. Looks like they've revised the hardware already.
I'm in the middle of downloading the Dell recovery image to install on my 850 Evo M2 SSD, but once that's done I'll post hwinfo screenshot. -
It's a common problem with Windows 10. Go to Display Settings and turn the automatic scaling back to 100%. It's automatic at 125% for all windows.
-
My Samsung 850 Evo M2 SSD is working fine so far. Downloaded windows recovery ISO from Dells website (Operating System section of our 7559 downloads).
Unplugged 1TB, plugged in SSD, pressed F12 to boot and followed the prompts. DID NOT have to disable secure boot etc. Once it was installed, it prompted me to clear the TPM and I confirmed, since it reinstalls the keys from the recovery drive.
It's now booted on the SSD, I'm just waiting for disable indexing to complete (common practice on SSD's), then will power down, plug 1TB back in and reformat. -
HWINFO showing factory LG screen.

I love 100% scaling it's just awesome!

This thread has been a huge help in my recent laptop hunt. I pulled the trigger and recently received my 7559 (i7, FHD) and was happy to find the LG panel!! Unfortunately compared to my last laptop I think it's not great. I think my last Lenovo laptop had a really high quality panel and now I'm spoiled. What are some of the best panels that fit the 7559? Has anyone done a write up on how to replace the panel?
-
Yes I did, it is working fine, no dead pixels, and brightness seems reasonable. -
The panel in my 7559 was an LG 156WF6 SPM1, not sure what difference this is from the LG 156WF6 SPB1
