Just return it and go for a 1080p screen.

Thanks for your input. I do actually alrady have an Asus Ultrabook laptop with a 15.6" display at 1080P. However, I needed something that was bigger and displayed items larger. I do web design/development and I've had clients ask me "Wow, the website is so tiny" because they looked at it on my laptop. With this laptop it's a much more reasonable size because the size of objects on the screen is comparable to that of a 15.6" screen running at 1366x768 which is the most common resolution right now.

I think crappy panels like this are going to be the rule rather than the exception in Inspirons... in fact, if you're looking for something like an IPS HD+ 17.3" screen, I don't think it exists at all in any laptop.

Bummer :( I don't expect IPS quality here just something that isn't total garbage. Oh well, I've got used to it by now. It still bothers me but not as much.
