Just got the wife a Mini 10, and I was wondering if they come with the Windows 7 upgrade and if they don't, is it worth putting it on the netbook? And how would I? (no optical drive)
Thanks.

I guess they do... if you buy any computer between now and the release date.
You can copy the dvd contents to the hdd and launch setup from there. -
I believe if your laptop came with vista home basic, you will not qualify for the free windows 7 upgrade. All other versions of vista do qualify for the free upgrade. The Dell website has information on the upgrade. You will have to register for the upgrade on the website. As you go through that process, you will be informed whether or not your computer qualifies for the free upgrade.
In order to execute the upgrade from the windows 7 DVD, you will probably have to beg, borrow, steal, or buy an external DVD drive. -
I have an eepc 1000HE by asus and I have windows 7 on there. here are my two cents regarding Win 7, it uses less RAM to run when compared to Vista, around 460 mb. It actually runs much nicer on my eeepc then vista but a little slower then windows xp. Win 7 finds drivers for your components much better then vista although with dells website easily locating those drivers should not be difficult. I dont have a mini but just wanted to share that with you.
In order to upgrade to the win 7 you would need an external dvd drive or load the win 7 installer onto a bootable usb stick.
Good Luck and I def recommend Win 7 over Vista, I love it!
