WHAT!!! NO WAY... It has never taken my that long to receive a parcel from Dell once it's in shipping..... Brutal!

 

Lol my Studio 1536 replacement aparantley costs $921.18 USD before Taxes and Shipping and 999.99 after taxes.

My original 6400 laptop was just under 1700 3 years ago.... with 3 year complete care warranty... that was with $100 off.....

That's what the purolator lady told me....ugh, i thought it would be fast delivery like my mouse. Like it went from in production to shipped for my mouse, and i got it from purolator the next day, lmao.

I'm gonna spaz if theres a problem with it, and this whole FRICKING process starts all over. By the way, its 14 day refund policy right? I think i'm just gonna get a refund if mine's faulty and just buy a HP lmao.

 

Chances are you will get a computer that works.... it's not like Dell ONLY produces Lemons.... They ship out like millions of computers... there is bound to be some bad ones.

But using the other site... logging into my account and all... says it's still the 15th... so today.... bah. I better hear back from the manager tonight...

I figured it was because it was under 24hours yesterday....

 

I tried a few days ago and it worked; it might be because my laptop is shipped now? I don't know. Dell's gotta have a better information system going on here. Too confusing right now.

 

yea.. it used to work on all my old canceled orders too.... but they dont work either.... Can anyone confirm if it's working or not? I think it might be down....

 

Just got a call from a Dell Rep. Just to let me know that a new order was processed for me. He told me that they couldn't upgrade me to 4gb of ram... but did upgrade my processor and some random things(sound, screen, bluetooth) The ram is an easy upgrade anyways. I wanted to get something other than the black chainlink because I'm not a huge fan of gloss, but whatever... I can't really complain about that.... the thing I can complain about is the 20 business days... Yea... 20 BUSINESS days... so 4 weeks for my computer... Yikes. He did guarantee me express shipping... so not standard shipping. Should get it within a a day or two of it leaving Dell. He also confirmed that I would in fact be getting Windows 7.

So add on another $120 I don't need to spend (because i didn't get the Win 7 upgrade when it was $60 cdn)... Should be a good system once I get it. It will be new, not a refurb.

So now we play the waiting game......

 

lol grats on the continuing free ugprades you keep getting. However, hope you don't get the order cancelled again at the last second, cause that would suck!

 

I wouldn't say keep getting... these are the same upgrades I found out about yesterday... which is still pretty good... I'm happy about the express shipping (UPS instead of Purolator) and the confirmation of Windows 7 upgrade

Uh... if you purchased your computer after the 26th of June, you can put in your service code and register for a free upgrade once the Windows 7 comes out.... It depends on when you actually purchased your computer... In my case, I wasn't sure if i would get it because theoretically I bought my computer in August 2006...

Then when you get your computer, you can register it on the Dell website and then once Win7 is released you will get an upgrade disc

I didn't know you ordered in July.... You only had to wait... 16 ish days? Thats not bad! Dang.... haha I'm jealous

 

lol; yeah i expected worst too. People told me it usually takes a month, and I knew there would be a mad rush for laptops in august, so i played it safe and ordered earlier.

 

LOL... SO i got a call from Dell today... the Replacement Division or something.... They asked me if I have received my computer yet. Shows how organized the place is....

 

Seriously.... Ok... my computer got shipped today. YAY! right?....

I'm leaving tomorrow morning to go work with a PHD student in the field. I wont be back for a week, possibly 2 weeks. FML much? So anyways... I should get my computer tomorrow... but won't be using it, or even opening the box for another week-2weeks.

Does anyone know what I should do as far as returning my computer? I'm taking it on my trip... figures this would happen.... guh.

 

The box of your replacement laptop will have a return shipping label. Just attach it to the box over the existing label, put your old laptop in the box, with the same foam packaging that the replacement used, and you can either call FedEx to arrange a pickup from your home, or you can drop it off at a local FedEx center.

 

But do they have a time limit... like i said... i wont be around... I'll have my old laptop with me... and in the meantime... the new studio 1555 will sit untouched at home with my family.

 

Why not have your family package it up and send it back?

If that's not possible, just make sure you call Dell customer service and let them know of your situation.

But yeah, call Dell, just let them know that your return shipment will be a bit late and it's out of your control.

 

Yea just did that.. they are putting a note on my account... haha now I have until the 20th of August to ship it back. haha... sweet.

But wow.... My first order was the 9th of June.... my first call about a system exchange was probably late May.... so around 2 months to get this thing done.

Lets just wish me luck that this computer works flawlessly. I can't wait to use it, especially after hearing all you guys being happy with it so far. Now the question is... to reformat it or not once I get it.... We'll see how I feel when I get back

for the next two weeks i'll just be on this forum... and my Studio 15 will be sitting at home... booo.

 

Reformatting was the first thing I did when I opened it up. I trust you'll enjoy it.
