    Dell Order Status - XPS M1530 Red

    Has anyone else had any issues with a delayed XPS M1530 Red Shipment? When I ordered it on the website, it said ESD was 1/16. Now it's been moved back to 1/26. I've called a zillion times and I'm stuck in build status limbo. Just wondering if anyone else had a similar issue or any positive news for me. I'm so impatient, I probably should have ordered a stock machine instead of upgrading the processor and stuff. Oh well...

    Edited to add: I received my accessories last week. Nothing like sitting around the house looking at a very sexy laptop sleeve and mouse. I would like to be able to use them though... ;)

    Hey there!

    I'm surprised that the 1530 has a new ship date of 1/26. Normally, Dell over estimates on the ESD (for potential problems like a back order on parts, etc).

    Call again, and speak to a Rep..and ask them to send you an email with Case Number confirming the latest delay ~ and the new ESD. They know what the delay is, and they should be able to tell you.

    How are they shipping? Next Day, ground? I bet you can get them to bump you up to Next Day shipping due to your delay.

    It is a sexy lappy ~ I have it in red...and you will really enjoy it, once it's received!

    Thanks! I will do that. They were shipping ground but maybe they'll be nice and update it for me.
    I really wanted it in red. I compared the black one and the red one with the same setup, and the black one would have shipped on 1/7. My husband teased me because I wanted the red one more than I wanted it to be there "RIGHT NOW!", and now he's teasing me because I'm so impatient.

    Your welcome! :D They shouldn't have a prob' upgrading your shipping! If they give you any qualms about it ~ ask them what they would do if they were in your situation, and they were waiting on a lappy they were really excited about. :D

    You will really like the red..sleek, slim and sexy all in one! :D :cool:

    I understand wanting something you just ordered, and have been waiting on..also! ;)

    Just hang on abit longer and I'm sure things will work out the way they should for you!

    Still in "In Production - Build" status. I know I'm impatient, but we have a long weekend coming up, and it'd be awesome to have to play around with. I think I might slowly drive myself insane.

    Oh, and when I called and spoke to the Customer Care group yesterday, the gentleman told me that he doesn't see anything that would hold my order up, so it will probably ship before the ESD.

    I know the waiting is awful... :(...But try and be a bit more patient. It would be nice for you to get it for the weekend :D

    Are you getting Case Number & email confirms, each time you speak to Customer Care?

    Still in "Build". Also, it hasn't been charged to my DFS account yet. Should I be concerned? My account shows that it's been charged for the accessories that I received already. Do they wait to do the final charge when they actually ship it? My dell.com account shows that it's been charged, but the dfs site doesn't.
    That's another sucky thing about the accessories and adds to the impatience factor. I have the laptop sleeve and the mouse, I won't know if they work with it until I get the laptop, but that'll probably be 21 days after I receive the laptop. Has anyone had issues with returning something more than 21 days after they were received because the laptop hadn't arrived by then? I cannot wait to use them, it's tough to see them sitting on my table, waiting for the main piece. ;)

    Yes, the Case Numbers = helpful..it's documentation of your interraction with the Rep, etc. :D

    Oh you won't be charged on your Dell DPA, until it's ready to ship...Built and ready to head out the door to you, per se. :D

    Those are prob's pending charges you are seeing on your dell.com account.

    The accessories...you would prob's have a good case for being able to get the refund, if it doesnt work...since your order hasnt shipped yet ~ yet you received them beforehand.

    I hope you go into the boxing stage, then being shipped SOON! :D

    I am in the same boat. I ordered on the Jan 2 a red 1530 , with estimated shipment on 26 (today) Until this morning I called customer service and they were arguing with me that it would be shipped today when it was still in the build stage. Now I got this email saying shipment delayed up to Feb 2nd.

    I am pissed not only because it's delayed but even more because the customer service did not bother inquiring , they were just reading what my status was , and did not have more information that what I could read on my account. You would think that being customer service and all they would have a bit more information.

    What can possibly make a computer ship 1 month after order when Christmas time is over! Dell costumer service gets a F with me so far.

    I just called they told me they had back order on components, whatever that means.

    Yeah, mine's also the 2nd. I tried to get them to tell me what it is that's backordered so I could cancel the order and reorder with whatever they had instock, even if it was more expensive, but they said they didn't know. How do they not know?!

    When did you originally ordered yours?

    I asked them too but of course they could not answer. Giving the fact that they could not tell me it would be delayed this morning I came to the conclusion that those people are totally useless.

    I don't want to be the one playing the conspiracy theory but I wonder if they are not trying to make us cancel to order the new line. I just find very very weird that when I called to ask what was delaying the order the guy kept asking me if I wanted to cancel. It was like he wanted me to cancel.

    If I do cancel I will never ever buy from Dell again. Their consumer service sucks and honestly I hate having to deal with incompetent people.

    I feel the same way. You'd think, if it would keep the customer happy, they could just tell us what the delay is. I'm fine with waiting another week or so if the LCD is backordered, or the red case is Out of Stock and the factory where they're made is shut down due to an insect infestation. I just want to know WHY it's being delayed. Once I know, then I'll understand. But if they don't tell me, I feel like they're blowing me off. :D
