Technically no...the 30 days is the 30 days but...
I know of many cases where they have granted it on the basis that you paid for a brand new system and you shouldnt receive one any less than just that.
When it arrives, you call a CSR and they will send UPS and also email you a mailing label. they will come right to wherever you want them to (some Islands in the Great Lakes excluded)

Thanks flamenko... I hope the replacement works out... Do i have a deadline to which I need to contact the CSR to come pick it up? i imagine there is a deadline .. they probably won't let me have both computers for too long.

They will call but its about 2 weeks generally.

I'm considering returning my system since they have a better deal now. However, the policy statement that was mailed with my Invoice states there will be restocking fees and shipping fees paid by me. Have they changed the policy now?
-
I called Dell's customer service and asked to be referred to the Total Satisfaction Guarantee department. I spoke with a "Claudia" and she replied that her department handles returns. I tried to request a RMA but she stated that my return window has past the 21 days. I then referred to the 30 day Total Satisfaction policy and she clearly stated that the return window is only 21 day for my XPS m1530.

Has the policy changed now? Is it still a 30-day no restocking fee refund?
-
It depends on who you ask. In the States for sure it has changed to 21 days.
In Canada you are best to call and ask to be transferred to the Total Satisfaction Commitment Team. Last i heard it was still 30 here. -

So the 21-day return policy is from date of invoice??? Not date of shipment or receipt of the system?
That blows bigtime.
I ordered a system on 4/18, but the estimated delivery date is 5/5, at which point 14 days of the 21-day return period will have expired before I even get to examine/test the unit... -

Hi everyobody
My friend just bought her M1340 (which is completely new model) with 6 gigs of ram, 2.4 core duo, 320 gigs in HD, dvd +- burner, WLED, vista home premium, she received it last wednesday but just after completing the configuration steps she wanted to change the desktop image and VOILA!!! Blue Screen of Death, I told her not to panic, it happens and "it really happened again" and again and again, I talked to tech support and told them about the problem, ended up reinstalling the disk image it has on the restore partition but guess what??? BSOD showed up again, and again, and again, I then reinstalled the SO from the DVD attached and after a while using the computer at least 4 different BSOD appeared again, waited for more than 3 hrs in the phone and after a while of speaking with half the company they told me a "supervisor" was gonna check the case because we asked for a money refund. It's not possible that the computer had so many problems (not to mention you had to turn it on two times because the first time it just turned on the multimedia indicators and stuff had to turn it off and turn it on again to completely start up)
Do you think we will get a refund??????? she spent moreless 2 grand on the computer. -
I know it varies with other countries. The UK has a specific return policy, and if you are in the UK, I believe it is 7 days from receipt..but I could be wrong.

Hi!!! I'm in Mexico actually, and I had the doubt that basically they would argued that the policy only applies to the US but based on what you are posting if in the UK It can apply everywhere.

Every country has its own rules/laws regarding this.
