    dell ship dates

    ok well I ordered my "Beast" yesterday it is scheduled for shipping on the 18th. But when i go into which phasing it is already on the testing stage! and it has not even been 24 hours!!! will my notebook get here before the actual date? do they just give you an exaggerated date so you wont bother them asking where your comp is?

    That is not unusual. Many people cancel orders which leads Dell to be able to send those to people with the same config. Also Dell seems to have weak and max configs pre-made.

    na, they give exaggerated dates so that people wont complain if their comp arrives late...

    Dell, most of the time *overestimates* the ESD ;) :)

    There is a good chance you could get yours sooner, if there are no production problems...like a part on backorder, etc. ;) :)

    And, always check the status of your notebook online, automated (by phone), or calling a rep and asking. :D

    You can even check on it by online Chat with Dell..(I avoid online Dell Chat..as most of the times I called ~ there was confusion, and no straight answers)..but you may fair better ;) :)

    How is your shipping? Is it overnight?? ;) :)

    My computer is taking FOREVER ... the mouse I ordered through Dell shipped out 2 days ago already, it was supposed to ship with my computer and my computer ... not yet. I ordered it 7/21 and I mean, it's been "In production" for about 10 days. I'll just drive my car over their and build it myself, jeez.

    Where do you find what phase it is in? I see people saying they know when it's being built, kitted, tested etc but I all I can find is a section that says either: Ordered/acknowledged/production/shipped.

    Call the 800# automated number, put in your order number and it will tell you the stage it is in. Or, just check online..and you can find out! Or, simply call Dell Customer Care, and they can tell what stage it is in, also ;) :)
